Surge Brake System for DEMCO Tow Bars

The Ready Brake II Surge Brake System is designed to bolt right up to a DEMCO Tow Bar and works with either the Aluminator or Excalibur model. This SUPPLEMENTAL BRAKE SYSTEM is designed to replace the existing 2" X 2" draw bar piece on the tow bar that fits into your receiver on your motorhome.

This brake system is easy to install - simply remove the existing Demco draw bar and put your Ready Brake II in its place!

What is a Surge Brake?  

We've taken our favorable Ready Brake Supplemental Brake System and designed a version to fit the Demco Excalibur and Aluminator Tow Bars for our customers who would like to add a Surge Brake System to a current tow bar.

The Ready Brake II in Action

This is a Surge brake supplemetal brake system for your towed vehicle behind a RV. The animation shows our ReadyBrute Tow Bar and not the Demco, but the functions work in the same way.

Ready Brake II works by using the weight of the towed vehicle to stop the vehicle. When you step on the brakes of the motorhome the weight of the towed vehicle surges forward through the tow bar. Then the Ready Brake II  will slide in the receiver it is mounted in and the lever mounted on top will rotate and pull on a piece of aircraft cable that is tied to the brake pedal and apply the brakes on the towed vehicle.
